    wtf, I'm 34

    Hey friend,

    I turned 34 yesterday.

    WTF.

It feels so weird to say.

I specifically remember, around 16 years ago, thinking about being in my mid-30s and what life would be like. Would I be married? Would I have kids? What would my job be? What would my younger brothers and sister be doing? Would they have a family? Would they have kids?

It blows my mind because I remember having that thought so vividly. And then, in what seems like a blink, I'm here. In my mid 30's.

Time just floors me. It trips me out to no end that an experience can seem so long ago yet, at the same time, seem like it was merely a moment ago.

It scares me more than anything else, and I have a hard time not ruminating on it. Like take these and tell me it doesn't floor you…

    2027 is 4 months away.

    2016 was 10 years ago.

    COVID happened 6 years ago.

People born in 1990 are 14 years away from being 50.

2007 is further away than 2040.

Time is moving too fast, and it creates a sort of panic that I can physically feel in my chest. Some days it feels paralyzing. Other days it lights a fire under my ass to get moving and make sure I'm not wasting these days away. Because every day that passes, the next becomes that much more precious.

I'll leave you with a perspective I got from Alex Hormozi:

The median lifespan for a U.S. male is 74 years old. That means you're middle-aged around 37, not 50. And if you adjust for how our perception of time speeds up as we age (1/age), we hit the midpoint somewhere around 20 or 21.

You don't have as much time as you think. So make your move.

I'm going to go hold my daughter and be with my wife now (today's her birthday).

    With love,
